Tal Y Llyn The Eliminator Swimrun

The Eliminator Swimrun at Tal Y Llyn, with 36% of swimming, and easy runs!

A stunning course in a beautiful part of Eryri - Snowdonia National Park, at the foot of Cadair Idris. The hamlet of Tal Y Llyn is nestled on the shores of Llyn Mwyngil, a beautiful glacial ribbon lake.

Unusually for swimrun this as an in-water start! There is just one swim entry, which involves stepping down from the pavement into the lake. Apart from the two swim exit points (very short sections of trail), the running was on a hard surface (paving/tarmac) and was flat.

Filming Mike’s Out-and-Back Swim Event

Introduction

Last weekend presented a unique opportunity for me to capture a short film documenting Mike’s (@wesimrun) event. This event was a thoroughly enjoyable out-and-back swim, beginning at Aberdyfi beach and reaching as far as Abertafol before returning to the starting point.

The swim brought together a group of enthusiastic participants, all eager to take on the scenic challenge presented by the Aberdyfi-to-Abertafol route. The atmosphere was lively and encouraging, reflecting the camaraderie and spirit of open-water swimming events.
