Sunrise over the Mawddach Estuary, North Wales. This image was taken at first light, looking inland as mist lifted from the water and the sun rose above the estuary shoreline near Barmouth. The calm conditions and low cloud cover created a brief, quiet window in which form, light, and atmosphere aligned. I’m increasingly drawn to black and white for landscapes like this — it removes distraction and focuses attention on structure, contrast, and mood rather than colour.
