Aberdyfi Half Marathon 2026
The Aberdyfi Half Marathon returned on 4 April 2026 under the influence of Storm Dave, bringing sustained wind, rain, and testing conditions to an already demanding course. With 850 metres of climbing over 21.1 kilometres, this is a route that rarely offers respite.
Leaving the village, runners climbed quickly into the hills above the Dyfi Estuary, where exposed sections took the full force of the weather. Underfoot conditions were wet and at times unforgiving, with steep ascents and technical descents requiring care throughout.
This is a race shaped as much by its landscape as its distance. In these conditions, pace becomes secondary. The challenge lies in managing effort, reading the terrain, and staying composed from start to finish.
Support on the course remained steady despite the weather, with volunteers positioned where they mattered most. The return into Aberdyfi marked not just the end of a race, but the completion of a course that demands respect in any conditions—particularly in a storm.
A selection of photographs from the day is included below, documenting both the runners and the conditions that defined the 2026 event.
