Tonfanau Road Racing

Living in Aberdyfi for most of my life I had never attended a Tonfanau Road Racing Event, which is normally held 4 times a year. My first visit was last Sunday 30 June 23, and I was fortunate to be granted track access. The racing did not disappoint, just watching the event made the adrenaline flow and panning the camera smoothly for a decent shoot difficult (I normally take my images with the camera securely mounted on a tripod).

Tonfanau race circuit is one mile long, with a width of 22' 6'' and is run clockwise. This image is taken from the hairpin exit leading on to 'farm straight’. At this point, the riders are accelerating lifting the front wheel and allowing me to get this image.

The next road race is on the 25 August 2023, if you are in the area I recommend a day out at the event. More details can be found at: https://www.tonfanauroadracing.co.uk/event-calendar
